My story

Johnnie arrived on a cold February day only to spend the next three days hiding. Once I was able to catch him, he started to shake in my arms and bury his head, withdrawn and scared. He gradually learned how to play, starting awkwardly before perfecting his skills with the dangling catnip mouse. He is a quiet cat (a man of few words so to speak) but he purrs loudly and often. As his personality blooms he has taken to flopping down in front of me for belly rubs and a little tussle. Johnnie shines with other cats both young and old. He is submissive to other cats and does well with them. All-around good mannered, he is tidy with the litterbox, polite at the communal food bowl and even stays off the counter tops. The ideal adopter will give him time adjust and reap the rewards.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Johnnie (the Cat in Black), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
