My story

When Delilah first arrived at the shelter, she was overwhelmed and heartbroken. Losing the comfort of her home left her scared and unsure. She was shy, shut down, and full of nervous energy, but even in those tough first days, her sweet soul shone through. She never acted out or lashed out. She just needed time, patience, and kindness.And then Delilah did what dogs do. She blossomed.In just a few days, this brave girl began to show us who she really is. She discovered that walks are pretty wonderful, that staff members give great ear rubs, and that cheese is absolutely the best thing on earth. By day five, Delilah was greeting staff with kisses, tail wags, and gentle requests for attention. Her transformation has been incredible to witness.One staff member who’s been working closely with her shared, “Delilah has done a complete 180. She now greets me at the front of her kennel, playful and loose. Today, she met new people out on the green and confidently ran up to them for pets.”Delilah is a resilient, intelligent, and deeply affectionate dog who just needed a little time to trust again.
