Valencia

My story

Valencia became a CRA dog after being transferred from our local shelter. She was urgent listed, needing medical care for an URI and possible pneumonia and really needing somewhere to land that could allow her to slow down and recover. Thankfully we had an AMAZING foster set up and she was ours. Valencia is now recovered and showing us her true colors, things to know about her so far are: - She is potty trained and crate trained. She actually does enjoy her kennel and uses it as a space to relax. - She is super loving and affectionate, enjoys a good cuddle just like the rest of us. - She seems a little timid with kids and so at this time we would recommend an adult home only. This may change as she gets more comfortable but we also want to set our dogs up for success! - She is working on leash manners as now that she is finally out of isolation and her body can withhold longer walks she is EXCITED. We are unsure if this is because of the restricted exercise or just needing more leash manners but she is willing to learn, and we are helping her get there. - We can definitely tell that she has been through some things but still does her best to be trusting, it is incredible how resilient a dog can be. Valencia is located in the Chicagoland area and accepting applications for residents within 3 hours of Chicago. If we open up her adoption radius, potential adopter will still be responsible for transporting to Chicago as we do not offer transport.
