My story

I’m a hugger, and I hope you are too. When I wake up, or when you get home, or do something that earns a “good boy,” I just want to snuggle up and get a full-body rub and hug. If you sneak in some tummy time, it never hurts my feelings. Here are the things my foster parents say make me an especially good dog: I’m kind, like all the kids and people that I meet, and I love my foster sister dogs. They say I’m well behaved too. I’m house trained, crate trained (it’s safe when I get scared sometimes), and I’m leash trained. Sometimes I bark inside, but it’s only when something is wrong! Like when raccoons run on the critter highway outside my crate. Those guys are loud and wake me up. My foster parents think I had the worst February a dog could have. Someone dropped me somewhere I didn't know and I couldn’t find my way and got hit by a car. Some nice people picked me up and took me to meet my new doctor. She was nice; she gave me a hug too. She says I was probably wandering the streets a long time. I just needed some time to rest and heal my paw. I’m walking, slowly, on all fours a little more each day. I’m getting much stronger. I can keep up with my foster sister dogs, Evie and Toast. They’re great! My favorite new thing is toys! Who knew these things were so much fun? I throw them around and play like a (huge) puppy. And balls? Wow, those are great! I chase them constantly, and I even have my favorite balls—it’s all the round ones! I hope you’re ready for a hug. And my furever home. PS: My foster parents tell me I’m descended from royalty and that’s why I’m so special. King Louis XIV declared my great, great, great granddogs the royal dog of France. And now I have a king’s name.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Louis the Fourteenth HTX, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
