My story

Boomer is four years old, devastatingly handsome, and just about perfect -- house-trained, healthy, polite on leash, and fluent in “sit,” “shake,” and “down.” He knows how to read the room, how to win over skeptics, and how to make even the darkest day feel lighter.He was adopted not long ago by someone who loved him deeply. But when his dad received unexpected deployment orders, he made the painful decision to return Boomer to the shelter -- not because he wanted to, but because he wanted his best friend to have the stable, joyful life he deserves -- a home, a forever person or family, a life where the only uncertainty is whether the Kong is stuffed with yogurt or peanut butter.In dog playgroup, Boomer is a wonderful chameleon. If his playmate wants to wrestle and zoom, Boomer’s all in. If they need a gentler touch, he slows his pace, softens his posture, and helps them feel safe. He doesn’t just play -- he listens. Boomer is the kind of dog who helps other dogs come out of their shell.And when it comes to people? Boomer is the whole package.He loves adults. He ADORES children. We’ve introduced him to toddlers, teens, and every age in between. His eyes light up when he hears a giggle. He leans in gently when someone cries. He’ll chase bubbles, sit politely for story time, or do his best to join a game of tag. He's both a jester and a comforter -- whatever the moment calls for.He's smart. He's sensitive. He's silly. He's so, so very good.What Boomer needs now is not just a home -- but the right one. A place where he can stretch out in a sunny yard, show off his tricks, and make you laugh at least once a day. He would love a kid to dote on, or a dog friend to wrestle with, or just a person to follow from room to room.Boomer is waiting at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton.
