My story

Shorty is a 4yr old 90lb American Staffordshire that was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/15. He was returned because he was left in the backyard and it wasn’t a good situation for him. Not only is he a handsome dude with his reddish-gold coloring and his hazel eyes, but he’s also a real sweetheart. He’s short, stocky and solidly built. He wants to be an inside dog. His size is deceiving because he’s really just a cuddle bug. His tail wagged constantly. He sits for treats and takes them relatively gently. He’s well behaved, laid-back, friendly, happy, gentle and very sweet. He walks surprisingly well on a leash with just a slight pull. He did his business in the yard. He wagged his tail meeting some of the dogs but really wasn’t interested. He would be like a welcome wagon, when people come inside the home wagging his tail and giving kisses. He wants to be a loving loyal companion.
