My story

Shotgun is 13 year old Patterdale Terrier mix. He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. Shotgun might be 13 years old but he has some pent up energy that he needs to get out of his chamber! He enjoys playing fetch so much that his desire to continue is often more than his body seems to want. Patterdale Terriers are a hunting/working breed with high prey drive and Shotgun is no exception. At 19 pounds, he can be a lot on a leash if he decides to chase birds or other small animals. For this reason, he should not be placed in a home with cats or other small animals. We also think he'd do best in an adult-only home. While Shotgun is an independent gentleman, Patterdales are known for enjoying time with their humans. Shotgun is crate trained and that's a great space to help him rest. However, he'd definitely adore the opportunity to relax and cuddle with you outside of his crate. Shotgun is ready for a family who can provide training, exercise, and structure. As a working breed, he is built for that. While he is a senior, as a higher energy dog he would be ideal for an active person or family. He requires a securely fenced yard in an adult-only home. Read Shotgun's full profile and submit an adoption application on our website: https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/shotgun

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shotgun, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
