My story

Fendi is an adorable small poodle mix. She came to us from a hoarding situation with a few other dogs earlier in the year. While all of the other dogs were very social, Fendi is more reserved and she prefers to do her own thing at times. Sometimes she is wonderful lap dog and other times she would rather hide under the bed. She is a happy girl with her dog family, but can be shy with people and espeically in new situations. She loves other dogs and loves to play. She would love a home with another dog at home to make her feel more comfortable. Fendi is full grown and is roughly 4 years old. She weighs about 11-12 pounds. With her coloring, she may be mixed with a Yorkie. She’s working on house training. She would benefit best from an owner who is home most of the day to continue to work on a house training schedule. Fendi would do best with a fenced in yard because she tends to run and does not always want to come back in. She is much more social with dogs though and will follow another dog inside. She has seen a cat and has done ok with her from afar. We think that she would do well with cats with a proper introduction. She does great with women, but has shown some distrust of men once she is in a home and this has carried into multiple households- she get protective of the women in the house and bites at the men. She absolutly needs a home without any men. We also are looking for a home without kids. Like many dogs from hoarding situations, she is scared of fast motions and somebody reaching to pick her up. It startles her when she is not prepared for It . Fendi did need a full shave down when she came to us due to her matted fur. Please be aware that she will need coat maintenance at home and scheduled grooming with a groomer. If you are interested in adopting Fendi, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY/Dog **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete.
