My story

To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Well hello there, I’m Oreo—and just like the cookie, I’m sweet, a little silly, and absolutely irresistible. I’m a four-year-old guy with a big heart and a goofy streak, and I’m on the lookout for a forever home where I can be my charming, lovable self. I’m a friendly, social cat who loves being around people. I’ll often greet you with headbutts, rub up against your legs, and plop down nearby to keep you company. If you’ve got a lap available, even better—I’ll happily curl up for a cozy nap and reward you with loud, happy purrs. I may not sleep in your bed (I like my own cozy setup), but I’ll always be close by. I’m a big fan of head, cheek, and chin scratches—and I’ll even politely demand ear rubs when I’m in the mood. I do have a playful side that sometimes kicks in when I’m being petted, and I might treat your hands like toys if I get too revved up. I’m working on channeling that energy into more appropriate outlets and making great progress with the help of a behaviorist. I’ve also got a bit of a thing for feet… I’m learning that they’re not chew toys, I promise! Playtime is important to me, and once I get going, I’m a blast. I especially love ribbon wand toys, kicker toys, and anything I can bite or wrestle with while lounging on my back. You’ll often find me doing dramatic flops or striking hilarious poses when I want to play. I also adore cardboard scratchers and spend time exploring every nook and cranny I can find. Food-wise, I’ve settled into a routine of Sheba pâté twice a day, plus some crunchy bites from a puzzle feeder. Dry treats like Greenies? Yes, please! I’m not picky anymore—I’ve learned to trust my people and enjoy what I’m given. I’m still a work in progress, especially when it comes to being picked up (not my favorite) and learning to express excitement without my teeth. But I’ve come such a long way, and I know with continued patience, play, and love, I’ll keep getting better. So if you’re looking for a playful, people-loving cat with a giant personality and lots of love to give, I just might be your guy. I’ll keep you laughing, keep you company, and be your best buddy through all of life’s cozy, quiet, and goofy moments.
