My story

Hi! I’m Howie, and I’m about 18 weeks old—just a sweet southern boy from Alabama looking for a forever home filled with love, patience, and a cozy spot on the couch.I came up north with my four brothers from an unexpected litter, and I’ve been learning all about the good life in my foster home. I love exploring outside and hanging out with my foster mom’s two dogs. I’m still learning how to meet new dog friends—it takes me a little time to warm up, but once I do, I’m loyal and playful and love having a buddy to romp around with.I’ll admit, I can be a little shy and timid in new situations or around new people. But with a gentle approach and a little patience, I come out of my shell and show you just how loving and snuggly I really am. My foster family has two girls who love to snuggle me and show me love. I always feel safe and happy when I’m with my foster family.Potty training is going well—I’m doing great on a schedule—and I sleep soundly in my kennel (though I definitely won’t turn down a cozy nap on the couch). I've also figured out some basic commands since I get treats and pats on the head when I do something right. It's been pretty warm out, so we tend to go for walks on a leash, which is so much fun. I’m a soft-hearted pup who thrives in calm, nurturing environments and would love a home that gives me the space to grow in confidence at my own pace.If you're looking for a loyal little companion who just needs a bit of time and love to blossom, I might be your guy. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions.
