My story

Americano is a spunky little pup and the sweetest sidekick you'll ever meet!  He is about 28lbs and somewhere between 8-10 months old, and FULL of love. He has been diagnosed with mild megaesophagus, but that does not stop him from living his best life!  Americano currently has a great feeding and drinking schedule and thankfully is rarely regurgitating. He is currently doing 3-4 small meals a day from a seated position and needs to remain upright for about 10-20 minutes after eating to ensure no regurgitation. His meals are mixed with some water and thickit so that it is a "slushy" consistency.  He also has a comfy collar that he is used to wearing most of the time, especially when sleeping, so that his head is always propped up and gravity is always helping his esophagus move liquid or food down into his stomach and keep acid from building up.  We are hoping to find him a home who already has knowledge of mega esophagus or a home who is willing to learn, research and adapt to his medical needs. We promise he is WORTH IT- he really is the sweetest dog who deserves the best life!  Americano is potty trained and crate trained and loves his foster dog siblings. We are unsure how he is with cats; he has never met one. He is playful, energetic and also an amazing cuddler. He can be a great walking buddy but will also fall asleep in your arms. He is very quiet, rarely barking or making any noise, even when he's in his crate. He is a little nervous of humans at first, especially men, but getting more confident every day, and once he trusts you, he will be your shadow!
