My story

Remi is being fostered in Salem, WI. Meet Remi, an 8-month-old red tri Australian Shepherd with a sweet and gentle nature. Remi came to us by way of a shelter.  Shelter's are a scary place for a shy, undersocialized girl like her.  Weighing in at about 35 lbs, Remi is a small bundle of love with an adorable bobtail.  Remi is a reserved dog who’s very slow to warm up to new people. Remi's natural response to unfamiliar situations is fear, and she needs time and space to feel safe. Remi is looking for a patient and understanding adopter who can offer reassurance and guidance as she learns to trust the world around her. She thrives in an environment where she feels safe and loved.  Remi will need a an adopter who has some herding breed experience.  Remi will need someone who is willing to invest time in training and help her build the confidence she needs to shine.  Remi's ideal home would have no children under 10 years of age.  Remi is making steady progress in her confidence-building journey and would thrive in a calm, structured environment. One of her favorite things is going on hikes and playing with other dog - she has excellent dog social skills and can play for hours. She also does well with cats.   Remi knows “sit” and has good recall, making her eager to please and easy to train. She’s also fully potty and crate trained and has some great house manners. She also does great in the car! Remi is great with both dogs and cats as well as other small pets.  Remi would also do best with a physically fenced yard.  She would do best with someone who has a large area that she can explore and feel secure as one of Remi’s favorite activities is playing with other dogs and being chased! If you're looking* for a loving sweet pup to give your heart to, Remi could be the perfect match for you!  Remi needs someone who understands cautious dogs and is willing to put in the time to help her grow. With patience and consistency, she has the potential to become a well-adjusted companion. Remi is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.  Proof of heartworm purchases for any prior or current pet is required to adopt from our rescue.   NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2310406##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt 0782 Remi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
