My story

Meet Papi! Papi might have arrived as a mystery, but he wasted no time becoming a volunteer favorite. At 99 pounds, this 9-year-old gentle giant is what one of our volunteers affectionately called “a four-legged baked potato”—and honestly, we can`t unsee it. He’s round, handsome, and very content just lounging in the play yard, soaking up the sun and sniffing the breeze.While we’re still learning more about his preferences and quirks, one thing is clear: Papi is all about that chill life. He’d be a great match for someone who enjoys a slower pace and a loyal buddy by their side. And if you`re 65 or older, you can bring this spud home for free through our Seniors For Seniors adoption program.~~~~~The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is open every day from noon until 6pm (excluding limited holidays/events). You can meet our animals with the convenience of an appointment or as a walk-in. Appointments can be made by emailing adoption@wilco.org. Interested in fostering a dog in need? You can take one of our pups on an adventure for a few hours, giving them a much-needed break from the shelter while you enjoy some quality time.
