My story

Hi, I’m Oscar! My foster mom calls me her gentle giant. I’m about 70 lbs of quiet, fluffy love. I may be big, but I’m calm, quiet, and like to fade into the background—unless you’re handing out pets, of course! I’ve recently started asking for affection with gentle nudges, and I love being close to my people. I've also learned that I really enjoy running around and playing with the other dogs! I do best in a calm home with a fenced yard, as I can get startled by sudden sounds or movements. I’m still learning to be brave, especially around men and new people, and would thrive with a patient person and maybe a confident dog friend to help me build courage. I’d also do well with calm, older kids who understand I need a little space and quiet to feel safe.I sleep great in my crate, know to do my business outside, and am so quiet—just a few sighs and snores here and there!If your idea of fun is reading, gardening, or relaxing in the backyard, I’ll be right there beside you. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions.
