My story

Meet Scooter! In early March, Scooter's father drove himself to the emergency room seeking care, only to discover he had suffered a stroke and required immediate hospitalization in critical care. Scooter and his dad have been living in their car, so Scooter waited outside the hospital, hoping for his dad's return. The hospital staff took note of Scooter's situation, checking on him daily and reaching out to us for assistance. Meanwhile, Orange County Animal Care stepped in and took Scooter in for his safety. Unfortunately, due to his father’s ongoing medical issues and uncertain future, Scooter needed a plan that ensured his safety and well-being. So, on March 11th, Scooter became a Frosted Face. He is 10 years old, and at 49 lbs., a perfectly adorable mid-size meatball. He is such a sweet and happy boy! Scooter LOVES to play with toys. Scooter went on a two-week Frosted Fling, and we are so happy that he spent time in a home again while waiting to meet his forever family. His Fling Mom shared this rave review: "Scooter is a true gem who will bring joy, laughter, and a touch of class to your life. While he might not be a fan of car rides or other dogs, his unique quirks only add to his charm, making him a one-of-a-kind addition to any home. This respectful pup has mastered the art of home etiquette, earning a stellar reputation as a polite housemate. Potty trained and sleeping soundly through the night, he ensures your home is peaceful and well-kept. His gentle demeanor as he takes treats and greets new people with perfect poise makes him an absolute gentleman in every situation. Scooter thrives on cuddles and playtime, and his love for toys will keep you entertained for hours. His impressive ability to pick up commands showcases his eagerness to learn, while his occasional antics with squirrels reveal his playful side (and perhaps his preference for being the star of the show when it comes to furry friends). Bath time might be a bit of a challenge, and he's not crazy about car rides or vacuums, but he bounces back quickly to his charming self—a true testament to his resilience and trust. While he’ll need some patience and guidance as he works on overcoming separation anxiety, his capacity for love and loyalty will make every effort worth it. With time and consistency, he can learn to feel more comfortable during those moments apart. And if you’re looking for the perfect working buddy (for those working from home), you’ve struck gold. He’s wonderfully mindful of your schedule, thoughtfully checking in and inviting you to take breaks after meetings with his endearing playfulness. It's as though he intuitively knows how to brighten your day. Scooter is not just a pet; he’s an attentive, cuddly, and loyal partner who will enrich your life in more ways than you can imagine. Whether you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, a playful pal, or a respectful roommate, he ticks every box with charm and personality. What more could you ask for?" Scooter currently lives in a Foster home. Think Scooter might be your new best friend? Email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to schedule a meet-and-greet and find out!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Scooter, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
