He’s picked up great leash manners and will happily work for treats—he’s smart, motivated, and eager to please. John Wayne gets along well with calm, respectful dogs who don’t push his buttons, especially those who understand boundaries. He does show signs of food resource guarding with both people and other dogs, so he’ll need a home that can manage that with structure, patience, and possibly some training support. He’s a big fan of chew toys and can entertain himself for hours.
