My story

If you are seriously interested in an animal, we ask that you first fill out an application, tailsofrescue.org  This will be the first step to gaining more information about the animal as well as allow us to know a little bit about you.  Please note: All of our dogs are currently in foster homes, and not all of them come into the store each day. If you’re interested in meeting a specific pup, please fill out an application or text us to set up a meet-and-greet. We’re not a traditional shelter with kennels on-site—we run a full pet store to help support the rescue efforts for these animals. Thank you for understanding Meet Meerkat! Meerkat is an adorable 8-pound Chihuahua mix, estimated to be around 2 to 3 years old. She’s full of energy, incredibly sweet, and loves nothing more than to snuggle and be by your side all day long. She’s a total Velcro dog who thrives on companionshipwith her person.  Meerkat can get along with other dog but can be snappy when they get too close to her people or her stuff.  Bescuase of this, we do believe she would thrive best as the only dog in the home.     Meerkat gets along well with other dogs, though we’re not sure how she feels about cats or livestock. She’d likely do great in a home with teenagers who can match her playful spirit and give her lots of love.   A quick heads-up: Meerkat is a bit of an escape artist. She’s mastered climbing chain-link fences—even 6-foot ones! Because of this, she’ll need a very secure yard with a vinyl or solid fence that she can’t scale. Her future family will need to keep a close eye on her during outdoor time to keep her safe.   Meerkat is microchipped, current on her rabies vaccine, and has been heartworm tested. Her adoption fee is $150   If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and slightly adventurous companion, Meerkat might be the perfect match!   Spayed/Neuiterd, micro chipped, heartworm negative (if of age), dhpp shots, kennel cough vacs., and one year rabies is completed.  Adoption fee is $200  We are NOT a first-come-first to adopt a rescue, the best fit for the family and dog is the way we do things.  We do out of town adoptions often, but will not ship animals must come to Redding for pick up.   ##2333126##
