My story

Meet Bella Mae, a sweet and shy 11-month-old girl weighing 43 lbs. Bella Mae is a gentle soul who thrives in peaceful environments, where she can relax and feel at ease. While she may be a little timid at first, she’s been a true trooper when it comes to meeting new people, including kids. Her calm nature shines through, and she's been nothing short of wonderful in these interactions. Though Bella Mae is hesitant about getting into the car, once she’s in, she rides quietly and comfortably. On walks, she’s a dream – she walks beautifully on a leash with no pulling, making her a perfect companion for leisurely strolls or daily exercise. This snuggly girl finds comfort in being close to her people, and she loves curling up for some quiet bonding time. While she hasn’t shown much interest in toys, Bella Mae is very treat motivated, which makes training a breeze and helps build her confidence. Bella Mae came in with other dogs and would likely do well in a home with another friendly, confident dog to help her feel more secure. With a little patience and love, Bella Mae will flourish in a calm, nurturing environment. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion to share your quiet moments, Bella Mae just might be the perfect fit! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
