My story

Meet Hibiscus – a snuggly pocket pittie bursting with love! Hibiscus is 4 years old and weighs just 35 pounds, making her the perfect compact companion. This adorable girl thrives on affection—she's the queen of cuddles and absolutely loves falling into her people for pets and attention. Crate trained and incredibly affectionate, Hibiscus is a true people-lover who wants nothing more than to be near her humans. She’s generally lower-energy, but don’t be surprised when she lights up with joyful zoomies the moment you walk in the room! She may gently jump up to give you a hug—resting her chin on you while looking up with the sweetest smile—but it's all love. Hibiscus walks well on leash with minimal pulling, though she loves to stop and sniff along the way. She doesn’t bark and shows no reaction to people or animals on walks. She’s also a fantastic car buddy—just needs a little help getting in—and handles trips like a champ. Loud noises can make her nervous, but she simply retreats to her crate for comfort and calm. If you're looking for a small-sized pup with a huge heart, Hibiscus is your girl. Come meet her and let her show you just how loving and delightful life can be with her by your side! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up-to-date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
