My story

Meet Petey Puppy: The Bump-and-Go Love Machine! Ever wanted a dog that comes with built-in GPS? Well… Petey doesn’t have that. But what he lacks in navigation skills, he makes up for in love, enthusiasm, and an uncanny ability to find your lap no matter where you are. Petey is a 6-month-old double Merle Catahoula who happens to be mostly blind, mostly deaf, and mostly ridiculous. He navigates life like a Roomba—occasionally bumping into things but always recalculating with a goofy grin and a tail that never stops wagging. Petey’s Talents Include: ✔ Being dog, cat, and even pig social (he’s basically the Dr. Dolittle of special needs dogs) ✔ Swimming like an Olympic gold medalist—but only with supervision, because let’s be real, he’s not seeing the pool ladder anytime soon ✔ Loving his person with his whole heart (and his whole body—hope you like being followed everywhere) ✔ Finding his way to the comfiest spot in the house: your bed. And yes, he requires sleeping there. Non-negotiable. Despite his sensory challenges, Petey is pure joy in dog form. He doesn’t care if he can’t see or hear perfectly—he just wants to be with you, love you, and maybe accidentally sit on the cat while trying to cuddle. If you’re looking for a best friend who will make you laugh, melt your heart, and occasionally trip over your furniture, Petey Puppy is your guy!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Petey, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
