Konalyn

My story

Meet Konalyn! Konalyn came to us from San Diego Humane Society on February 27th. She is estimated to be 12 years ago, and she weighs 25 lbs. Konalyn is a sweet, happy girl with a big, bright smile that's contagious! Konalyn has been living in a Foster home for over a month, and this has helped us learn so much about her. Her foster mom reports: "Konalyn is a sweet, loving dog and will be a wonderful addition to any home. She is good with all people and loves attention and pets. Konalyn likes to be pet on her body first and then you can slide your hand to her head for pets and ear scratches. Konalyn is very active and acts years younger than her age. She loves to go for walks! She easily walks a couple of miles and could go further. Konalyn knows sit and leave it commands. We're working on 'come', and I use the word ‘walking’ as a way to focus her attention when she sees a dog that causes her to be uncomfortable. Next to walking, eating is her second favorite activity! Konalyn eats heartily and is not picky. She knows dinner time is 5pm and will bark 20 minutes prior to remind us to ‘feed the dog’. Konalyn is calm with our two senior dogs and interacts nicely with them. We did a proper introduction which helped. Her hearing is limited, so she is surprised by some dog encounters. This results in barking. She doesn’t like high-energy dogs and is calm with our two senior dogs. Konalyn was fine with all the dogs at FFF in the small dog yard when we were there recently. Konalyn is subtle in letting us know that she needs to go out. She looks at us longingly as her signal. She is pee pad trained, and since we placed a few around the house, there have been no accidents. Konalyn sleeps through the night without needing to go out. She rides well in the car and is good while getting baths." Be sure to watch the adorable video of Konalyn greeting her foster mom when she gets home. Everyone should be greeted this joyfully!
