My story

Meet Schultz Our Lovable, Loyal Gentleman Waiting for His Forever Home Shultz has been part of the Great Lakes Weim Rescue family for over 700 days, and while we adore every moment with him, we know his perfect person is out therejust waiting to meet this one-of-a-kind guy. This handsome 8-year-old silver boyhas a crinkled ear that only adds to his charm and character. Hes a quirky soul with a gentle heart, and hes looking for a calm, quiet home where he can be someones devoted companion. He would lovea human whos home often and preferablya household with another mellow dog to hang out withwhen you are gone, Shultz thrives when he has a pack to belong to. Hes not demandingjust a short walk or meander in the yardto sniff the world is enough for him. After that, hes perfectly content to snooze on a dog bed thathes carefully fluffed andarranged for maximum comfort (hes quite the interior designer!). Shultz has also taken on the very important role of yourofficial door greeter. When you come home, hell be there, tail wagging, ready to welcome you back with joy and devotion. Shultz gets along well with other dogs who are calm and respectful. He prefers a slow, proper dog-to-dog introduction, and once hes comfortable, he fits right in. Hes also a vigilant little guardianalways ready to alert you to any stranger danger, even if its just a squirrel with suspicious intentions. Hes deeply committed to his human pack and does fine with guests who areintroduced in neutral spaceslowly outside of the homein the yard. Once he knows theyre approved, hell happily welcome them as part of the extended pack. Health-wise, Shultz is doing well, though hes starting to show a bit of arthritis in his back legs. He may move a little slower when getting up (dont we all?), but it doesnt stop him from enjoying life'slittle pleasures. His favorite pastimes? Backing up for butt scratches (his reverse "beep-beeper" is broken, so don't be surprisedashell do it anywhereeven when he visits you inthe bathroom!), emptying the toy box, selectingjsut the right toy or chewand rolling around playfully on itbefore settling in with the perfect chew toy. And when its mealtime? Prepare for drama! Hell flop dramatically on the living room floor like hes wasting awaysprawled out like he would need a chalk line around him until the scent of rotisserie chicken hits the air. Then its happy feet time as he trots to the kitchen like a brand-new dog. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet, quirky, and loyal old soul, Shultz would love to meet you. Hes patiently waiting to see if theres a sparkand we know that when the right person comes along, itll be magic.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Schultz, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
