My story

Rosie is a 3 yr old Yorkie-Maltese mix who weighs around 10 lbs. She came to us from a hoarding/breeding situation in a home with 29 dogs.  Despite coming from a hoarding home Rosie is surprisingly friendly, but would do best in a one person household.  She enjoys having toys to play with and gets along nicely with other small dogs. She needs another small doggie companion in her adoptive home.  Rosie is crate-trained and is learning house training quickly; however, she will need someone with patience to ensure her continued success. Rosie is just starting leash walking.  We are requiring a securely fenced yard for Rosie so she can have the opportunity to play safely supervised in her own yard, a fenced yard helps with housetraining and most importantly it is an added layer of safety because Rosie is quick!  Rosie’s hair requires regular combing as it is not the fine type that mats easily; however, her hair grows fast, so her adopter needs to be up for frequent grooming.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500May 16, 2025, 3:27 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rosie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
