My story

Meet Chief! Chief is about 1 year old, 12.5 lbs, and he likely has some rat terrier or min-pin or chihuahua in his mix! He was surrendered after his elderly owner could no longer care for him. In his foster home, he is working hard on his house-training, crate training and leash walking. He could go to a quiet home with cats and other small dogs. He needs a fenced in yard and another dog for confidence. His foster days, `Chief has come a long way, but still has more to go. He is gaining confidence each day. In the short time that I’ve fostered him, I’ve seen moments where he forgets whatever life threw at him before and shows a perky, fun side to him. Another well-adjusted dog brings out the best of Chief’s personality. I have no doubt that he will be a sweet, loving addition to the family with patience and love. He is not easy to catch sometimes so a secure leash or small spaces are best until he gets over his shyness.. He likes a soft, soothing voice.`He is available for adoption in Hopkinton or Worcester, MA by appointment with an approved adopter. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chief, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
