My story

There is an adorable video of me on social media! Click here to experience the cuteness! 🌤️ Meet Sky! 🌤️Surrendered due to untreated medical needsSky is a resilient 2-year-old mixed breed with a soft soul and gentle heart. Found underweight and suffering from untreated skin infections, Sky came to ACC after her former owners were unable to get her the care she deserved. Despite everything she's been through, she greets her favorite people with a wagging tail and calm presence.🏡 My Ideal HomeSky will thrive in a patient, adult-only home where she can settle in slowly. Her ideal adopter will understand that recovery is more than just physical-it's emotional too. A calm environment with a steady routine will help her build trust and confidence at her own pace.👶 Good with Kids? We're recommending a home without children under 13. Sky has shown some sensitivity when touched in certain areas and will need gentle, respectful handling as she continues to heal.🐕 Good with Other Dogs?Sky has met other dogs at ACC with calm interest and polite manners. She may enjoy sharing her home with another mellow, respectful dog, though she'd also be perfectly happy as your one and only.🦮 Leash MannersSky walks nicely on leash and checks in with her handler often. She's highly treat motivated and is quick to sit and focus when she sees a snack coming!🩺 Overall HealthSky arrived underweight with demodex mange and skin infections, but thanks to steady veterinary care and lots of love, her skin is healing, her fur is growing back, and she's gaining healthy weight. She is not yet spayed due to her recovery, and ACC has provided a temporary waiver.📊 Behavior Determination: Level 3Sky is sweet, sensitive, and still learning to trust the world around her. She can be fearful when touched unexpectedly-especially around her paws or collar-so gentle introductions and slow handling are key. She has warmed up beautifully to staff over time and accepts enrichment with a wiggly tail and happy heart.🎉 One Fun FactSky will sit and offer her paw for a treat-on her own terms, of course! She's smart and eager to please when she feels safe.💸 Adoption Fee: $75Includes microchip, vaccinations, and a spay waiver until she's fully healed.Sky has survived so much and is more than ready to start the next chapter of her life in a loving home. Come meet her today at ACC in Queens! Primary Color: Sandy Secondary Color: Blonde Weight: 62.6 Age: 2yrs 3mths 3wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sky, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
