My Foster wrote: Greetings human friend.I've been trying out this ancient Egyptian god persona lately, because I think it makes me seem mysterious and captivating. I'm getting pretty good at it - I've convinced at least one human that I have teleportation powers. So when you first meet me, I might greet you with this deep intense stare I've been practising, channeling of the wisdom of the universe. But honestly I can't keep up the act 24/7 - when it's nap time I'll be sprawled on the comfiest chair I can find, or I'll build a little pillow fort and hunker down. Maybe I'll be so blissed out that you'll get a peek of the little white splotch on my belly! One thing you should know about me is that I really love food. My favorite room is the kitchen because that's where food comes from. My favourite sound is a can opening because that's where food comes from. I've got it all figured out!I've got a big appetite because I need energy to explore this wonderful world of ours. I'm a big believer in "carpe diem", and I just love to run around and check out what's new in my kingdom. Can you plz wiggle a string toy for me to chase? That's the best. But when you have to go do your boring human stuff, that's ok - just leave me with plenty of fun toys and scratching posts and I'll happily keep myself entertained.Fun fact: I'm not much of a meow-er. Meowing kinda ruins the mysterious ancient Egyptian god persona.Ok here's another thing I should tell you: I'm still making up my mind about being petted. I don't hate it - I definitely won't be mean to you if you try - but I might back away a bit. Dude, wouldn't you have a few trust issues if you'd had your tail amputated? But I'll strike you a deal: if you give me my favourite treat EVER, a Churu, then you can pet me while I eat it. Ok you can pet me while I eat my dinner too. See, I'm very accommodating. And you know, I'm actually a pretty sociable guy once you get to know me. I do find humans quite fascinating, so I hope you don't mind if I sit next to you, or peek my nose into your laptop, or jump up on the bed with you. My foster humans say that I've warmed up so much since they met me that I'll probably become a softie in time. If I'm in a calm, peaceful home, with patient and sensitive humans who will love me for the adorable, eccentric, playful, ancient Egyptian god that I am - they might be right. What my friends at ACC say about me:Talus is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, when overwhelmed after a few pets, he does attempt avoid human contact. It is difficult to predict if he will respond to socialization but we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people. Primary Color: Gray Weight: 7.53 Age: 3yrs 2mths 1wks
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Talus, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
