My story

Meet Hombre! Hombre may be 14 years old, but this spry senior still has plenty of pep in his step! He is a loyal, smart, and energetic companion who’s looking for a loving home where he can continue enjoying his favorite things: long walks, trail hikes, trips to the dog park, and cozy naps afterward. Hombre has been a cherished member of his family for nearly 13 years. After his mom passed away, Hombre provided comfort to other family members. Sadly, now his dad is battling cancer and is in the hospital frequently. Together, the family reached the very difficult decision to find Hombre a new home where he can be cared for in a loving, stable environment. . If you're looking for a loyal, active dog who still loves adventure but also knows how to relax, Hombre could be the perfect match. He’s looking for someone who will appreciate his golden years, take him on his beloved walks, and give him a safe and loving place to call home. Might that be you? Be sure to watch the videos taken by a FFF volunteer while on an outing with Hombre - he rides nicely in the car and has great leash manners while walking at a good pace! Hombre is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about him in a home environment. His Fling Mom shares: "Hombre has been an absolute joy to have around. He is incredibly well-behaved—he doesn’t pull on the leash, is fully potty trained, and is super friendly with everyone he meets.
