Comari

My story

Comari has spent most of his young life at the shelter, and after 133 days, he is now in a foster home. Comari currently lives with two female dogs, ages 1.5 and 10 years. He is sweet, respectful, and very playful with them. His adoptive family should have another fun-loving dog to help build his confidence. The adopter should be patient, allow him to choose his own safe space, and let him adjust at his own pace.Although he may appear a bit timid and cautious, he is not reactive and does not mind when the eager young kids in his foster home sneak in a gentle pet. He shows no resource guarding around his food bowl or toys. Comari is beginning to enjoy people scratching his soft coat, being picked up, and accepting treats by hand—he has never turned down a little piece of cheese.Comari may not be a snuggle-pup right away, but with each passing day, we see growth and the potential for him to crave human interaction. He ignored the cats at the shelter and has not been tempted by the foster’s cat, who lives separately but is often heard and seen through a screen door.He has a beautiful red-fawn coat, a cute curled tail, and the most expressive wrinkles on his forehead. His most recent weight is 42 pounds. Comari is quiet, crate-trained, has had no potty accidents, and quickly learned to use a dog door.
