My story

Hi there, I am Valenteana a 2 year old lab/cattle dog mix with the sweetest soul you will ever meet! I might be a little shy when we first meet, but offer me a treat or two and you will see just how quickly I warm up. Once I feel safe, I turn into a total cuddle bug the kind who will nuzzle into your lap and never want to leave.I absolutely love other dogs and feel braver when I am around my furry friends , so a home with another pup would be a dream come true! I am also a great walking buddy with lovely leash manners, so let's hit the trails together. Fill out an application and come meet me at the shelter. I cannot wait to start my next chapter with you!During a day out with volunteers, this sweet and gentle girl started to come out of her shell. At the beginning, she needed some time to feel comfortable, with limited handling from the volunteers and lots of treats! It was not long until she started looking more comfortable. She was then up for a short hike on leash, eager to sniff every flower and watch every bird. At the end of her outing, she finally let herself trust the volunteers enough to sit with them, play with a blanket and ball, and even leaned in for some well earned ear scratches and used her paw to ask for treats! She is a soft soul who needs a bit of patience and love (and a handful of treats) to fully open up. Once the nerves start to melt away, she blossoms into a playful, silly, and curious pup.
