My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet MARGO! MARGO was saved from a high-kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, February 14th, 2025. We post our available dogs across the East Coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes of finding them the perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs—families must come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine, to meet and, hopefully, take their new companion home. Health & Background MARGO arrived in great health and is fully vetted: &#226&#156&#133 Spayed &#226&#156&#133 Rabies and core vaccines up to date &#226&#156&#133 Heartworm and tick disease tested – all negative &#226&#156&#133 On monthly flea/tick prevention &#226&#156&#133 Received 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention injection in February 2025 &#226&#156&#133 Microchipped &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143 Weighed 58.2 lbs on February 12th Estimated DOB: January 2023 MARGO’s Personality MARGO is a complete love bug who was adopted in Texas as a young pup in June 2023 but sadly ended up back in a Texas kill shelter in December 2024. She was part of the shelter’s Doggy Day Out Program due to her excellent behavior. Knows “sit” and “shake” Friendly and social with people and dogs High energy, jumpy, and playful Traveled well during transport Likes to run and play Can get overstimulated in the kennel environment due to high energy and limited space Play Group Observation (Texas Shelter) Quick to engage in play with other dogs Very energetic and excited &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 May be too energetic for lower-energy dogs What MARGO Needs MARGO is looking for a committed family that: Has an active lifestyle suited to a high-energy dog Provides mental stimulation, toys, and structure Understands the nutritional importance of high-quality food, treats, and enrichment Will provide regular veterinary wellness checks &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Will give her time to decompress, adjust, and learn the rules of her new home Adoption Details Adoption Fee: $250 Location: Sebec, Maine Families must complete and submit an adoption questionnaire Once approved, you’ll be invited to schedule an appointment to meet MARGO &#226&#143&#177&#239&#184&#143 Applications are processed within 24-48 hours Click here to complete the Adoption Questionnaire Want to See More of MARGO?
