My story

Meet Ms. Daisy! Daisy is a 12 year old, sweet and happy female brittany. She is a chubby girl (~ 55 lb) for her small frame, and it’s not her fault! She was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and is now medically controlled on low cost thyroid pills (0.3 mg twice a day). Daisy has a happy and friendly personality. She is low-to-moderate energy, preferring to hang out with you. Being a senior dog, Daisy needs a modest amount of exercise – she loves to go for short walks (~ 0.5 miles). Her pastimes are begging for treats (she gets mini Milkbones) and staring down squirrels and birds. (She used to hunt with her humans in her younger days.) She gets along well with other dogs. Daisy’s previous family surrendered her because they fell into hard times. Despite the loss of her family, Daisy will quickly adjust to a new family in no time at all. She arrived in her foster home in high spirits and quickly made friends with everyone in the family (human and canines)! Daisy is in good health and gets around aok. She just had her teeth cleaned, and the veterinarian and staff fell in love with her. She does have a dry, rough skin condition on her backend which the veterinarian thinks is related to her hypothyroidism. The skin condition doesn’t bother her and doesn’t require any care. Daisy weighs ~ 55 lbs (is chunky for her small frame), is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Daisy Lou, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
