Pablo is a very loving and affectionate dog who has made great strides since coming into his foster home. He has overcome his fear of strange, new noises, like the TV, and is learning how incredible it is to live in a house! He prefers being indoors where it’s nice and cozy. He is housebroken, leash-trained and can be patient in a crate for a few hours at a time. He needs some encouragement to get in a car, but once in, he rides very well. Pablo is super playful and will initiate play with other dogs. He loves leaning in for pets and has learned to accept that a brush will be needed for his long, white fur. Pablo likes to entertain his humans by pouncing on his toys and sleeping on his back with his long legs in the air. He would do best in a home with a 5-foot fenced yard, and another confident dog who would enjoy playing. He thrives on play, whether it is from toys or his canine companions. This social pup has never met a stranger, and will gently take treats from anyone’s hand. He is intent on making connections with is people, and loves direct eye contact when receiving ear scratches. Pablo is a positive and playful soul who can’t wait to meet his furever family! - Written by M.M. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. February 20, 2025, 9:02 am
