He has the classic breed look with a luxurious long, soft white coat. Tiger came out of a hoarding situation and though he's still growing into his full potential, this sweet boy already shows remarkable intelligence and thoughtfulness. Tiger is housebroken and crate trained, especially loving to have his crate turned into a cozy den complete with his soft bed, favorite hedgehog toy, and Durabone. He always makes eye contact when his name is called, and plays coy with his selective hearing - adding to his endearing personality. This gentle soul shows a moderate-to-high energy level and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, especially dominant females. He's also proven to be great with cats and seems indifferent about children. Tiger takes his time warming up to new people but can be won over with treats! He shows no interest in escaping and is content with a 5-foot fence. He's more of an indoor pup who prefers the safety and comfort of home, occasionally barking for attention rather than actual threats. While Tiger might act aloof at first, pretending he's not interested in humans (unless they have food!), he secretly melts when being brushed and craves attention. He has a healthy appetite and hasn't met a food he doesn't like! The perfect home for Tiger would be a low-energy household, possibly with teenage kids and ideally with a female dog companion. A patient family who understands his initially timid nature will be rewarded with a loyal, intelligent, and loving companion who will keep them entertained with his thoughtful personality. - Written by H.B. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. February 6, 2025, 6:59 pm
