My story

Meet Christmas – The One-Eyed Angel Who’s Still Waiting to Be Chosen Christmas came to us on Christmas Eve, alone in the cold, missing one eye and clinging to life. We promised him that night that better days were coming—that someone out there would see him, love him, and never let him go. Months have passed. And while he’s given nothing but love to every person he’s met, he’s still waiting. Christmas is a gentle giant with the kindest soul. He leans his whole weight into your side, as if he’s saying thank you just for being near. He doesn’t ask for much—just a warm place to rest, a quiet home, and a human to love him back. He’s incredible with kids. Easygoing. Affectionate. Grateful. But now he needs more than just our affection—he needs a safe place to heal. Christmas is high heartworm positive and can’t begin treatment in the shelter. The injections are intense, and recovery demands peace, quiet, and comfort—none of which we can offer him here. His life depends on finding a foster or foster-to-adopt home immediately. We know the right person is out there. Someone with a calm home. A soft couch. A little time, and a whole lot of love to give. Because Christmas has never stopped believing that someone will come for him. We believe it too. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. If you have any questions or would like to adopt Christmas, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
