My story

🐶 BRUCE – Cuddle Enthusiast, Certified Hunk, Gentle Introvert Meet Bruce, a 2-year-old Pit Bull mix with the hops of a kangaroo, the soul of an old poet, and the heart of a goofy puppy. Sensitive and sweet, Bruce is a big-hearted guy who’s ready to swap his shelter kennel for a quiet home and a cozy couch. He may be shy at first, but give him a little time and he’ll bounce right into your heart—literally. This boy has springs for legs! Once he feels safe, you’ll see tail wags, snuggles, and zoomies galore. The shelter is a stressful place for Bruce, and he’s made it clear he’s ready to move on. Bruce’s dream home includes: 🧘‍♀️ A calm environment where he can exhale, decompress, and nap in peace 🐾 A patient human who speaks fluent treat, understands that trust takes time, and knows it’s always worth the wait 🌳 A backyard—because the outdoors is his therapy 🐕 A home where he’s the only dog, or slow, thoughtful introductions to others. Bruce is more of a “let’s text first” kind of guy. 🐱 He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, but due to his strength and athleticism, a home without small children is best. He’s shown no interest in squirrels on walks, so cats may be a possibility with proper introductions. Bruce is very food-motivated (seriously, snacks = bravery). Treats help him tackle the scariest things—like garbage trucks and leaf blowers—and make training a breeze. He’s great in the car and walks nicely on leash, though he might get a little excited around other dogs. A few snacks and gentle redirection help keep him on track. He’s got the awkward charm of a teenager, the zest of a puppy, and the loyalty of a lifelong best friend. All he needs is a little time and space to shine. Bruce is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which allows you to bring him home on a trial basis to ensure the fit is just right. Come meet this lovable goofball at Melissa's Second Chances—and give him the fresh start he deserves. —————————————————————- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Once approved, we’ll work with you to ensure it’s a great fit—and if it’s not, no worries! We’ll help you find the right match. All of our dogs are adoption-ready and come: •️ Spayed or neutered •️ Heartworm tested •️ Dewormed •️ Up-to-date on prevention medications •️ Up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines •️ Microchipped •️ With a coupon for a free Simply Dub collar from Dubdog Designs

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bruce, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
