My story

Meet Fast Ball! 🐾Fast Ball is a stunning 3-year-old mixed-breed dog who was found tied to a fence and brought in by the NYPD. She's been through a lot, but she's ready to find a loving, patient home where she can build trust and feel safe.My Ideal HomeFast Ball will thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with experienced adopters who understand shy or fearful dogs. She needs a family that will give her time to decompress and let her build confidence at her own pace.Good with Kids?Due to her fearful behavior, Fast Ball is best suited for a home without children under 13 years old.Good with Other Dogs?Fast Ball has shown neutral behavior around other dogs. She greets politely but tends to disengage. She may do well with a calm, well-matched dog, but slow introductions are recommended.Leash Manners 🚶‍♂️Fast Ball walks well on a leash! She doesn't pull and stays close to her handler. She may fixate on certain people while out on walks, but with positive reinforcement and redirection, she can refocus and continue walking calmly.Overall Health 🏥Fast Ball arrived underweight with some minor wounds, which have since been treated. She has been vaccinated, microchipped, and is on a medical plan to support her well-being. She will need to be spayed after adoption.Behavior Determination: Level 3Fast Ball is a fearful pup who needs time to adjust. She may show defensive behavior when uncomfortable but has shown she can warm up with patience and treats. A calm, structured home will help her feel secure.Fun Fact! 🎾Despite her timid nature, Fast Ball is very food-motivated! If you have treats, you've got a way to her heart. If you're an experienced adopter looking to give a shy but sweet pup a second chance, Fast Ball may be the perfect match for you! 💙a staff member writes: Fast Ball is a sweet and easygoing girl who's ready to be your walking buddy! She greets you at her kennel with a soft, friendly body and is easy to leash up. On walks, she stays close on a loose leash, checking in with her handler and gently taking treats. She enjoys gentle pets on her head, chin, chest, and back, and responds well to cues like "sit." When people pass by, she may show brief interest with a soft pull but remains calm and friendly. Fast Ball is a well-mannered companion who's and eager to please. Come meet this gentle girl-she might just be your perfect match! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 61.5 Age: 3yrs 5mths 0wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fast Ball, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
