Poco

My story

Poco is a chihuahua seeking a companion who is ready to give him the one on one attention he deserves! He was an owner surrender at a local shelter, and after a couple of weeks of him not receiving any interest, our rescue stepped in so he didn't have to spend any more time in the shelter. He quickly bonded to his foster mom, and enjoys being her shadow 24/7. His favorite thing to do is burrow under blankets on top of her lap. Poco is housetrained, but will sometimes lift his leg to mark spots in the house. He is neutered, so belly bands would be an option for his adopter if he continues to have this issue. Otherwise, he has not had any accidents when he is crated while his foster family is not home. Poco does get along most of the time with 90lb and 40lb dogs in his foster home, but will growl and snap if they get too close when he is laying with his foster mom. He does not like to share his person, so if you do have other pets, please keep that in mind. He is cat friendly, and even enjoys playing with them. Originally estimated to be 10 years old, one of our rescue vets believes he is between 3 and 5 years old. One of our vets has graciously offered to sponsor his dental for his new adopter. He does have some seasonal allergies, which his adopter can help maintain with medication and/or topical treatment depending on vet recommendations.
