My story

Meet Oscar — Our Water-Loving Comeback Kid 🌊🐾 Oscar is about 3.5 years old and has already lived a few lifetimes’ worth of ups and downs. When he first came to us, he was in rough shape and needed some serious TLC. But with time, patience, and love, Oscar began to blossom into the goofy, loving, and resilient boy we know today. Oscar has so much love to give. He’s house trained, walks great on a leash (unless another dog gets a little too close — we’re working on it!), and has just the right balance of energy and calm. Whether it’s running on the beach, jumping off a dock, or lounging in the tub, if it involves water, Oscar is all in. But after a day of adventure, he’s happiest curled up next to you in bed, soaking up all the cuddles he can get. He did have a setback with dog socialization after an unfortunate incident, and while we’ve been slowly reintroducing him to other pups, he’s still very unsure and scared. For now, he’d thrive best as your one and only — the center of your world. Oscar has left the shelter a few times, each time being brought back through no fault of his own. He’s just a dog looking for the right person — someone steady, patient, and ready to give him the constant he’s never had. If you’re looking for a best friend who will match your energy, keep your feet warm at night, and never say no to a beach day, Oscar might just be your guy.
