My story

She's beauty and shes grace, she loves to sleep on a pillow beside your face! Meet Maya the 2-year-old (affectionately nicknamed meatloaf) girl you have been looking for. She is house-trained, spent 2 weeks at a sleepaway training camp, loves snuggles, and is called to the water much like Moana. Maya is great with our older daughter, who is 9, but has not spent much time with smaller children so I cannot say how she would handle that. Our neighbor's cat loves to hang in the tree right above our fence right out of smelling range, so her experiences with cats have also been untested and frustrating. Her perfect day would be slowly waking up on your pillow, heading to her breakfast bowl, snuggling on the couch, heading out for a walk or swim in the local pond, then going back to the sofa for a bone and more snuggles and maybe the latest episode of real housewives. She is housebroken and doesn't think much of the crate, but once you have felt the sweet comfort of the couch or king size bed, how could you ever go back? She has a dog bed in front of the fire that is a steady third place for favorite spots to be in the house. Her two weeks of sleep-away training camp taught her to recall, sit, down, stay, heel, go to your place, and come. Our trainer has even offered to do a free at-home visit with Maya and her new family! She is currently in a home with our other female dog and has shown she is not much for sharing bones or treats. She loves to play with other dogs, but not so much when bones or food is around. She would thrive in a house where she got to be the only lady dog of the home. She is still a young dog with a medium energy level, so one nice walk or play session in the yard a day makes for a happy Maya! She has not mastered the art of fetch and is much more interested in walking with you or exploring her surroundings. Maya would be a great addition to your home and has so much love and snuggles to give if given the chance! Maya is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program. All iRehome dogs are being rehomed by their current owner. All iRehome behavioral and medical information is provided by the dog's current owner. TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with the current owner prior to completing the adoption process.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maya, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
