Meet Luna! Luna is a loving, smart, and active girl who came to us on April 5th after spending the past two years bouncing around as her parents went through a long divorce and then sold their home. She is 9 years old and weighs 65 lbs. Here's Luna's family shared about her background: In her previous home, Luna lived with cats, another large dog, and children. She loved going on car rides with her family and accompanying them on adventures, including going to Cedar Creek Falls where she effortlessly climbed all over the boulders and swam. Even in her senior years, she still loves to hike, climb, and swim. She is a wonderful walking and hiking companion who is excellent on leash. Luna equally enjoys leisurely days spent at home hanging out with and cuddling with her family. Luna is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, and we are learning so much about this beauty. Her Fling Mom reports: "Luna is such a sweet soul that’s clearly been through some hard times. She seems pretty sad about losing her family and closely follows me wherever I go. Regardless of her past, this girl is an absolute sweetheart! Here’s a little bit more about her: * Walks well on the leash * Potty trained * Knows “sit”, “shake”, “down”, “come”, and “wait” * She is very obedient and her off-leash recall is instant. She wants to be near you. * That being said, when you leave the house, she tries to follow you, no matter what. She’s incredibly smart and can figure out how to open a gate, push open a door, or even climb a chain link fence to get to you. * She’s very good left in the house unattended. She doesn’t even cry or bark. She just hangs out until her humans come back. * Highly food motivated * Is possessive over food, toys, and human attention. I watch as she and my dogs eat to make sure she doesn’t take their food. She’s the alpha amongst the dogs. * LOVES a squeaky ball!! * Loves treat balls, snuffle mats, anything where she can use her brain and get food! * Does well at the dog park and gets along with other dogs in an off-leash setting * LOVES the dog beach! Wasn’t sure about the waves at first, but then loved it! * Very friendly towards all humans of all sizes! A little girl ran right up to her at the dog park, and Luna was very gentle and calm * Energetic and makes a great running or hiking buddy, but also loves to snuggle and hang out at the house or in the backyard * Does pretty well with baths! She didn’t enjoy it, but tolerated it well. * Very tolerant of all brushing, touching her feet, opening her mouth, and looking in her ears * Vocal at times, especially when she’s excited about something. Overall, Luna is an incredible dog who deserves a loving and safe home for the rest of her days." Be sure to check out the videos of Luna being a very good girl at the dog park, beach, and on a shopping trip! To meet lovely Luna, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
