My story

Meet Beret! Beret entered Riverside County Department of Animal Services as a stray with a microchip that enabled her owners to be contacted, but sadly, they did not come to claim her. On January 15th, we rescued Beret, and now she's a proud member of the Frosted Face family! Beret is estimated to be 14 years old and weighs 11 lbs. She is a gentle, laid back girl who enjoys cuddles, rides nicely in the car, and walks perfectly on a leash - she’s just a calm, sweet companion through and through. Beret went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what she is like in a home environment. Here's what we learned from her Fling Family: Beret is a VERY easy dog to care for and just needs a person and a snuggly bed (she comes with the cute pink one in the photos!) About 90% of the time, Beret is in this cute snuggle position and really just wants to snooze. When we do go outside, she is on the move and gets around faster than I expected (she can even climb stairs). She goes to bed whenever you are ready and gets up whenever you are ready! Beret is a great eater—she enjoys both dry and wet food and takes her medicine like a champ! When it comes to potty time, she needs a little extra patience, but with regular potty breaks (every 2 hours) and some help with potty pads, she does great. She’s mostly potty trained, though sometimes it takes her a little time to find the perfect spot outside. Beret would thrive in a calm, quiet home with someone who is home often to keep her company. She’s a very low-energy girl who enjoys her naps, but she also likes to wander around the yard and explore. She’s indifferent to other dogs, and while she doesn’t mind a little sniffing, she’s more interested in her people and naps. She’s also content being held and snuggling up with you on the couch or bed. While Beret can’t hear well and has limited sight, she navigates the house with ease and loves following her humans around. She would do best in a home where she can be part of the family’s routine—she’s great at lounging, napping, and cuddling, and would enjoy a peaceful environment with a cozy spot to curl up in. Could you be the one to offer Beret the peaceful, loving home she deserves? If you're looking for a sweet, laid-back companion to spend your days with, Beret might be the perfect fit! Beret currently lives in a foster home while she waits to meet her forever family. Might that be you? Please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to meet this very special girl!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Beret, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
