My story

ABOUT NALA Nala is a 4-year-old pittie mix who would thrive in a calm, quiet environment. She came to HAP after her previous owners were no longer able to care for her. When Nala first arrived at the shelter, she was incredibly scared and stressed. Our team often found her curled up in the corner of her kennel, trembling with fear. With gentle, consistent interaction, she began to show signs that she wanted to connect, she just wasn’t sure how to trust yet. Though she’s made great progress and is slowly learning to trust people, she can still be a little hesitant around new faces. But once she feels safe, Nala reveals her affectionate side. She loves curling up in your lap for pets and kisses, and she’s especially motivated by treats, bacon and beef snacks are her favorites! This girl also has the craziest zoomies and loves to run around our fenced fields. We believe that in a peaceful, low-stress home, Nala will blossom into a relaxed, happy couch potato. **Nala is a fearful, timid girl and may react if her boundaries are pushed too much. Due to this, she would do best in a home without children. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
