My story

Meet Fillmore! Fillmore entered Palmdale Animal Care Center as a stray, and when he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on January 8th to become a Frosted Face. We estimate he is 9 years old, and he weighs 64 lbs. If you're looking for a sweet, gentle dog who loves people and is ready to go on adventures, Fillmore could be the one for you! Fillmore went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about him in a home setting. His Fling Mom reported: "Fillmore is very much a sweet dog who is eager to please. He was able to settle in nicely, but he definitely liked to have his own space at first. Once he got comfortable, he loved to climb on my bed using doggy stairs and sleep next to me. I took Fillmore to work with me on multiple occasions and he loved greeting everyone. He stayed very calm and slept through most of the day. While home alone, he was very quiet and showed no signs of separation anxiety. Fillmore is easy to handle; no issues with being picked up, having his paws touched, or looking into his mouth. He also didn't mind if I took toys from him. Fillmore does not show any signs of aggression around his food either. I was able to walk close to him while he was eating, pet him, and add more food to his bowl without any issues. Fillmore also has excellent leash manners, with minimal corrections! During his walks, he can become stubborn about walking in a different direction from where he wants to go. The harness came in handy for that! I would just redirect him, then he would walk where we needed to go. Fillmore really is the sweetest boy!" Fillmore currently lives in a Foster home, and again is earning praise for being such a sweet companion and well-behaved guest. His Foster mom shares: "Fillmore is doing amazing! He's full of playful energy and absolutely loves to play fetch. Whether its a tennis ball or his favorite squeaky toy, he's always ready for a good time. Fillmore is fully potty trained. He's also super chill when left alone. He's content to nap or hang out until I'm back. Fillmore is the perfect mix of fun and easy going, and he's also getting much better on the leash he used to pull a bit, but now he's learning to walk nicely and stay by my side." Please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to schedule an appointment to meet this most deserving boy!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fillmore, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
