My story

Meet Orbitz! Orbitz entered Los Angeles Animal Care and Control's Lancaster Shelter as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we welcomed him to the Frosted Face family on January 14th. Orbitz is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs 56 lbs. It's a mystery why this gem hasn't been scooped up yet! Orbitz is a great balance of active and affectionate, ready to join in on walks, hikes, or car rides, while always happy to chill when it’s time to unwind. Orbitz has even been paddle boarding and was a natural! To learn what he is like in a home setting, Orbitz has been on several two-week Frosted Flings and earned rave reviews from every one of his fling families! Here's the latest: I had the best two weeks with this sweet baby. Orbitz is a true lover boy and a cuddly companion. Orbitz is so snuggly and loves to lean his head against you so he can get as close to you as possible. He is very polite, eager to please, and is a quick learner. He is great with the “sit” command and is picking up “paw” (shake) quickly. I have also been teaching him “boop” which is my cue for “touch” (touching his nose to my hand). Orbitz is a great hiker! He loves to take in all the smells and is able to keep up on an active trail. He loves a walk and is patient with getting his leash on and waiting to head out the door. We have been working on his reactivity when he sees other dogs. Luckily, he is very food-motivated, which makes positive reinforcement on walks easy. We had good luck keeping a serving of his kibble to be given during the walk so he keeps his focus on you if there are a lot of distractions around. Orbitz is potty trained and has had no accidents for 8-9 hours overnight. While having a bath wasn’t his favorite thing, he was a very sweet boy while getting shampooed and having his paws touched. He even lets me wipe down his paws after a muddy walk with no fuss. Orbitz would probably prefer a family who does not leave for long periods of time. However, he did well in a crate and with some toys to keep him busy! Orbitz is a lovey, sweet boy. Even though he is a big pup, all he wants is to snuggle in your lap! He will press his face into your hands when he wants love, and loves to be close to his people. He is ready to shower someone with so much love and affection!! He is ready for his forever home!"
