AceDon`t be fooled by my perky, social butterfly-appearing photos. Yes, I am a handsome young man at 2-years-old. And I look like a real party animal. On December 20, my brother and I were surrendered to HSHC because our owner lost their home. My bro, Spade, got adopted, but I am still waiting. However, the reason for my more extended residence is I AM INCREDIBLY SHY! I lived at the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe for a while but spent all my days hiding from the public. So, it was decided that I should transfer to a foster home to learn the ropes of being a contented kitty cat. My first foster parent reported that I became more sociable once settled into my own special room. I returned to the shelter but, sadly, became immediately overwhelmed again and reverted to my hiding spot. I am now in a 2nd foster home and this time I have a new BFF named Fawkes (you can check out his profile, too!). Living with Fawkes in our own room with lots of catnip and toys has been wonderful! I love to sit high up in the cat tree and bask in the sunshine. And - bonus! - this foster home has a little white dog who comes in each day to say hi - and I LOVE him! I know, it`s crazy - I`ve never been around a dog before, but this little guy makes me feel safe. I would prefer a home with another cat (maybe even Fawkes???) or potentially a small, loveable dog who will spend time with me. I know I put on a tough guy act, and I hiss, and I growl, and I hide ... but I promise - if you give me a safe space and lots of patience and love, I will settle down and become a wonderful companion.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ace (in foster), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
