This brave little one was found homeless with her brother (Blue) and mom. Mom loved her babies so much she left them alone only to find help. Thankfully she found someone who helped when this starving and very thin cat led their guardian angel to her babies. All were quite sick at the time. Thanks to medical care provided by a local nonprofit that advocates for shelter animals in need of medical help (Pound Pals Downriver), this little family got a second chance! Maddox suffered an ongoing eye infection very early in her life that left one eye damaged. Her doctor was sure the eye had actually ruptured. Once the infection cleared up, her caretakers at the shelter were shocked to see the eye still intact. Maddox has limited vision in one eye, less vision in her other eye. She is still able to make out shadows and can follow movement. Both she and her sister need responsible homes able to provide stability and serenity for them. * AGE: 4-5 months old * TEMPERAMENT: A gentle cat * Why are they at the shelter? Homeless * Any Health issues? None known * How are they with other cats? Dogs? gets along well with other animals * Volunteer Comments? Thank you for your interest in adopting a shelter cat! Our goal is a fit that benefits both the cat and the home! ** We DO give preference to applicants with verifiable pet experience. All cats are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise indicated. All cats are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. All of our resident cats use their litter boxes unless otherwise indicated. Cats are naturally inclined to use a litter box. Cat Fact: If a domestic cat is not using a litter box THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING IS WRONG! It should never be ignored! Your cat is depending on you for help. Our adoption fee for felines is $100. That covers the cost of spay/neuter, FeLV/FIV test, deworming, flea prevention (if applicable) and vaccinations (if applicable). We look forward to meeting you!
