My story

Hello, and very good day to you! My name is SWEET (Sezar) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever/Lab/Shepard mixAge: 6 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 66lbs / 30kgHeight: tbdHighlight(s): loves playing ball, enjoys people, bonded with Salty. Can't decide between sweet and salty?  Now you can have both!  My sister (Salty) and I are both looking for homes. When I was puppy, my rescuer found me with my sisters. Our mother had an accident and died. One of my sisters came to Canada many years ago when she was a puppy, but me and Salty were taken care of by a good hearted acquaintance of our rescuer.Sadly, after almost a year, that person died of cancer and we were put in a boarding house because we could not integrate with the many other dogs already in our rescuer's home.We have been together in boarding and the owner of the boarding house asked that we be moved to another place or pay a lot more. Our poor rescuer is unable to provide more funds for us at this point, so we need out asap.  Next steps for us are being thrust into a crowded shelter with little food, or worse-- out on the dangerous streets.Me & my sis love to play ball and we are great with people, including children! I tend to be a tad alpha with smaller or other female dogs (except my sister), but I love large male dogs. So to avoid issues, best not to be a roomie with a tiny dog or aother female aside from my sister Salty. Salty is much more friendly with other dogs. We're both connect with people and make friends fast.It is time for us to find a home of our own now. I'd like to stay together with my sister, but understand that may not be possible; we could go to separate homes.  But, since we've been together so long, we're both crossing our paws in hopes we can stay together forever.I'd love a yard!  What a dream!  As long as I'm taken for outings, I'll be grand. If I'm not with my sis, I can be adopted by myself or to a home with a large male dog.  Videos soon. Energy Level: moderate I get along with:Dogs: some - prefers large males, no small dogs or femalesCats: unknownKids: yes Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: some. I am familiar with a collar, house training.Leash skills: Not yet. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: Yes. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home, transitions can be difficult. Health Notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Our adoption fee together is $1400 CAD. The adoption fee for me only is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300 per dog. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##1663699##
