NOTE: ISHKA IS WITH HIS PEOPLE IN SOUTH SACRAMENTO. GSRSV HAS NOT MET ISHKA. WE ARE LISTING HIM ON THIS WEBSITE ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS TO GIVE HIM MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. URGENT! NEEDS NEW HOME BY MARCH 21, 2025!\ "Ishka" is an approx 80-lb, 6 yr, 7 mos old intact male GSD mix who is loving, playful and protective. Ishka is healthy and vaccinated but still needs to be neutered. Ishka is friendly with strangers who enter the house after a proper introduction, but is otherwise protective. Out on walks, Ishka is also protective of his people towards strangers. Ishka is good with young children, but is a little too large and exuberant for toddlers. Ishka is good with other dogs and wants to play. He is fine with little dogs. Ishka is good with the one cat he lives with. Ishka is housetrained, but is primarily an outdoor dog. He only comes inside when the weather is inclement. He sleeps in his dog house outside. Ishka walks fine on leash and is non-reactive towards other dogs who he sees when on walks. Ishka rides calmly in a vehicle. He loves playing with his squeaky toy. Ishka’s people (Jose & Luz Gutierrez) obtained him from a friend when he was two months old. They are now seeking a new home for Ishka because they are moving back to El Salvador in mid-March 2025 and are unable to take him with them.  There is no adoption fee for Ishka, but because he has yet to be neutered, a $100 refundable neuter deposit will be required of his adopters. This deposit will be returned to the adopters after they have Ishka neutered within 90 days of adoption. This will all be in writing. Ishka is located in the Pocket area of South Sacramento.
