My story

My foster writes:Meet BW, the ultimate cuddle companion! This affectionate and charming tuxedo cat adores being close to his favorite human-he'll follow you around the house like your tiny shadow. His favorite spot? Right on your pillow, where he loves to nap while keeping you company. BW's sweet and loyal personality will melt your heart and bring endless joy to your home. Are you ready for a best friend who's as loving as he is adorable? BW is waiting to meet you!A volunteer writes:BW is a feline "work in progress"...I do have hope for him to become a sweet and loving house pet, although a timid one. BW lived with many indoor/outdoor kitties but for some reason he was a 100% home buddy. His past is really a mystery but from being scared upon admission to the care center, immobile in his cubby, flattening his ears in fear and sinking in place upon being touched, BW has become curious, popping out of his hiding box to check his visitor out and accepting pets. Still, after a short while, he will jump to safety onto his balcony and observe his guest..I never heard a hiss coming out of him, he never swatted at me and he always appeared to me as a gentle shy boy. We all love and admire resilience and progress. Well, BW embodies these values.. Now, we need a home sweet home, a low traffic and loving one that will allow BW to  be all he can be, a GOOD pet! Come and meet BW very soon at the Manhattan Care Center!I am a sweet, social, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home!I can go home today!I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.Bw tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 13.2 Age: 7yrs 7mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bw, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
