Eggo

My story

Eggo is about 4 years old. He was found with his brother outside, some kind soul brought him to ACCT where he stayed for 3 weeks before he went to foster. Eggo is great with other dogs. He's neutered, total love bug, good with cats (ignores them) and people. Lots of energy, needs work on pulling with the leash. He's a funny little low-rider, maybe a Corgie-Pitt mix? He will be your best friend, very loyal. Eggo will protect you by barking occasionally, but stops when you tell him to! He loves running up and down stairs for exercise if he doesn't get to go on a walk fast enough. When he gets the zoomies it is so funny! Email foster@acctphilly.org for more information about Eggo! He's a short stack with a loooong body and wagging tail! He wasn't very interested in toys, but he loved getting some pets, and watching the traffic & people in the lot. Joined me on the bench (took two tries with his little legs!), and wanted lots of pets, especially butt scratches, which I was happy to oblige! Might be housebroken as well since he had a big pee once we got outside" Per volunteer 12/21: Eggo played with Ruby Tuesday today. We started with a walk together around the parking lot. Eggo pulled some and I was concerned about his throat so I used the harness method with the slip leash and it worked perfectly! He was very easy to walk that way. Eggo and Ruby had a good meet in the parking lot so we went to the play yard for a drop leash meet. Ruby encouraged Eggo to chase her. When she wanted a break, Eggo would sometimes wait for her a little too closely so we would redirect him with a squeaker to give Ruby a little more space. Eggo would then go sniff and Ruby would come back over and run by to encourage him to keep playing with her. It was really fun to watch them enjoy their time apart and together. See their videos! Eggo also enjoyed some pets and leaned into them a bit. Per staff 12/20/24: Eggo came out to meet some new friends! He was wiggly and waggy and super social. He took treats gently and allowed all pets and handling right away with no issue. He was his usual, friendly self! Per staff 12/18/24: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Eggo was in a crate due to space. He was sitting at the front of the crate with a very wiggly body, wagging tail, soft eyes and was very patient for leashing. Exited without any issues LEASH SKILLS: Pulls moderately HANDLING: In the room Eggo was stressed panting heavily but was social with all handlers! He would solicit attention from us both frequently leaning against us and curling up for pets. He was tolerant to full body handling, continuing to wiggle when petting him.
